My Insane, Non-Stop, Awesome Thursday!

I’m exhausted, my house is a mess, but I had the best Thursday ever! I really think I thrive on busy. Not busy for busy’s sake but activity-packed busy.

It all started bright and early, taking the 10-Year-Old to Fit Kid’s Club at school. I volunteer every Thursday morning at 7:30 to coach a CrossFit kid’s class with 40 3rd-5th graders. It’s an insane 45 minutes but the kids love it and so do I.

This is a few of them running laps past my whiteboard during warm-up.

After Fit Kid’s club I headed home, made the 4-Year-Old breakfast, played Chutes and Ladders (I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT GAME — I’d much rather play Memory but he’s losing interest) and dropped him off at pre-K. Then it was back home to finally get a post up on GreenLiteBites — My Mushroom and Potato Starter.

That was breakfast while playing the horrid game of Chutes and Ladders and it was delicious.

I finished the post just in time for my first ever guitar lesson!!

I’ve been itching to do this for some time but I’ve been scared. I grew up around guitars. My dad played. My brother played, but I never picked one up. I always just assumed the music gene skipped over me.

But with the 10-Year-Old playing trombone in school I’ve been inspired. I want to show the boys it’s never too late to learn something new and I think it will be great for them to see me be bad at something and have to practice just like they do.

And let me tell you, I’m B-A-D BAD but I had a BLAST at the lesson!

After the lesson I met The Husband at Chipotle for lunch before work and got my new favorite order since doing the Whole30 — Salad, no beans, no rice, double veggies, double chicken, salsa and guac. I love it!

Work was go-go-go. I don’t know what happens at the gym but time flies while I’m there. I did carve out about an hour to take the 2016 CrossFit Judges Course and I passed! I also registered for the open because, well, why not? It’s my last year before Masters so it will be fun to see how I rank overall.

I left work to pick up the kids. We stopped at the grocery store super quick to pick up valentines for the 4-Year-Old’s school party (I almost forgot — I always forget!) and  a rotisserie chicken for a quick dinner for myself since the kids would be eating with Husband while I was at my bowling league.

We made it home about 45 minutes before I had to go so I ate really fast and then the 10-Year-Old and I practiced our instruments.

Then it was off to bowling!

I got two games in before The Husband dropped off the 4-Year-Old for the kid hand-off since the 10-Year-Old’s soccer game was a late one.

He hung out with me for the last game and then it was home, bath and bed.

By this point I had just enough energy to clean the island. It was my #wycwyc moment because there was NO way I was cleaning up the entire living space or folding my laundry.

But as I say … when the island is clean the house is clean. I know when I come downstairs tomorrow morning it will make me feel at least slightly better about the mess and I’ll be able to start my day tomorrow a little easier.

Every day is a little crazy but today was especially so.

I must admit, I kind of like it.
