Below you can find all the answers to your most frequently asked questions about the Sleep Better app.

“How does the Sleep Better app track my sleep?”
The app uses the sensors built into your phone. These sensors monitor how much you move during the night. The data collected is then used to determine your sleep cycles – light sleep, deep sleep or awake. You can also make notes, for instance, about your daytime activities, and then find out how coffee, sport and exercise influence your sleep.


“Where is the best place to set my smartphone? Does the app work in a double bed with two mattresses?”
You should put your smartphone next to your pillow, near the bottom left or right. Putting your phone on the edge of the mattress is less advisable. Of course, the app works in a double bed as long as your phone is next to your pillow 😉

“Can I also access my data on Runtastic.com?”
Your sleep data is saved directly in the app and is not synced with Runtastic.com.

“Why doesn’t the app work with the Orbit activity tracker?”
The app was originally developed for users who didn’t own an Orbit but nevertheless wanted to track and improve their sleep habits. Of course, we are always working to upgrade our apps and satisfy the wishes of our users.

“How does the Smart Alarm work?”
The Smart Alarm allows you to set a time frame in which you want to be woken up. For instance, between 6:30 am and 7 am. The app automatically recognizes when your sleep is lightest and wakes you up. But in any event you will be woken up by no later than 7 am. Normally, this time frame is set to 30 minutes, but you can customize it from 5 to 45 minutes.

“Can I set different alarm sounds?”
Of course! You can choose between different sounds in the Sleep Better app, or use your own music. Oh, by the way, if you press the snooze button, the alarm will go off again in 10 minutes. Naturally, you can choose between 1 and 20 minutes, depending on how long you would like to keep sleeping.
